Abstract
Description
Time series of 12-hour core body temperature fluctuation between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM of individual caged adult male Dark Agouti (DA/HanRj, 230-250g) rats implanted with a telemetry transmitter (sampling rate of 0.003 Hz for five minutes every hour). Four different treatment groups were analyzed using the time series of temperature fluctuations collected: control-vehicle (C; saline, n=7), oxytocin (O; 3 IU/kg administered subcutaneously, n=8), lipopolysaccharide (LPS; 0. 1 mg/kg intraperitoneally, n=8), and LPS + oxytocin (LPS + O; combined administration of 0.1 mg/kg LPS intraperitoneally and 3 IU/kg oxytocin subcutaneously, n=8). Processing of temperature signals was at 250hz.
